Programe> Human Rights & Gender Promotion
IDF has been working on human rights and gender issues since its inception. IDF organizes poor women and provide training and necessary inputs for both economic and social empowerment.

The main objective of the program is to alleviate poverty through the improvement of economic, social and political rights of the poor people of urban slum and rural remote areas of Bangladesh.

Activities

• Awareness raising of common people on governance and democracy
• Training on governance and democracy for local government bodies
• Training for landless poor on importance and process of land ownership

• Counseling and services on STD / HIV / AIDS to sex workers,
   rickshaw pullers, truckers and their partners
• Rehabilitation of displaced families
• Mainstreaming of vulnerable and street children through non formal
  education, counseling, IGA training and health services.

2. Promotion of men and women’s joint participation in decision-making
   at all levels.
