Bangladesh Rural Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for Human Capital Development (BD Rural WASH for HCD) Project is funded by the World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) with co-financing from the Government of Bangladesh. Aimed at enhancing access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in rural Bangladesh, this project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG-6) to promote health, well-being, and environmental sustainability. Targeting around 120,000 households across Chattogram district, the project constructs safe piped water systems and twin-pit toilets, alongside behavioral change communication (BCC) campaigns to foster positive WASH practices and increase willingness to invest in improved services.
To accelerate the project activities, IDF has implemented a range of targeted services aimed at improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) standards in rural areas. Through workshops, awareness sessions, and financial assistance, IDF supports communities in adopting safe WASH practices and building essential facilities.
Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating poverty in the remote, hilly, and underserved regions of Bangladesh.
