IDF began its fisheries activities in Satkania Thana, Chittagong, supported by the World Food Program in 1993, aimed at increasing fish production and creating employment for landless laborers. The Fisheries Unit now focuses on training in fisheries management, cultivating indigenous fish species, and operating hatcheries for IDF-produced fish from the Halda River. IDF also provides free mother fish to various hatcheries in the region to boost local fish production.
Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating poverty in the remote, hilly, and underserved regions of Bangladesh.
