Green Rides Program
IDF took initiative of Green Rides Program that emphasizes on Lithium-ion Batteries charged by solar power in place of lead acid batteries in order to reduce carbon emission and ensure energy efficiency. The aim is to promote sustainable urban mobility and reduce environmental pollution by transitioning to green energy solutions through the use of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles.
Activities:
Lithium-ion Battery Implementation: Replacing lead-acid batteries with lithium-ion batteries in electric three-wheelers across various regions in Bangladesh.
Financial Support for EV Drivers: Providing loans to electric vehicle drivers to facilitate the transition to lithium-ion batteries.
GPS Tracking Integration: Incorporating GPS technology to ensure security and secured financing and better tracking of vehicles using the lithium-ion battery system.
It contributes to public health benefits as air quality improves, reducing pollution-related health risks in urban areas. Additionally, the program supports economic growth by providing financial aid to local EV drivers and encourages innovation in battery technology for a more sustainable future.
Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating poverty in the remote, hilly, and underserved regions of Bangladesh.
