IDF is currently implementing the RAISE (Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment) project, jointly funded by PKSF and the World Bank, from 2022 to 2026. The project aims to strengthen earning opportunities for low-income youth entrepreneurs, Covid-19 affected micro-entrepreneurs, and youth apprentices through training and micro-credit this project has been implementing in 39 branches under 12 districts, mostly in Chattogram and Rajshahi areas.
Activities and Interventions:
The project focuses on four main components:
Covid-19 Affected Micro-entrepreneurs: Provides micro-credit support and risk management training to Covid-19 affected micro-entrepreneurs, with flexible interest rates.
Apprentices and Master Crafts: Offers hands-on training for apprentices from master crafts persons, aimed at developing them into entrepreneurs. Additionally, master crafts persons receive orientation and training.
Low-income Youth Small Entrepreneurs: Provides soft loans and extensive Business Management & Entrepreneurship Development (BMED) training to low-income youth entrepreneurs to improve their business management skills.
Staffing: The project is supported by a dedicated team including a Project Coordinator, Case Management Officer, Life Skills Officer, and Accounts Officer, alongside existing microfinance staff who have received specific training.
