The staff members of IDF usually receive 3 different types of training like pre-service training, in-service training and training provided by outside agencies. The group members receive an initial mandatory training on group functioning to get recognized as group members, known as ‘financial education training’, and later on various skills development training. In pre-service training, after recruitment, they are required to undergo intensive training on group and office management and disciplines, credit rules and conditions, accounting, reporting and monitoring system for six months. In-service training is organized which deals mainly with day-to- day issues, problems, accounts keeping, monitoring & reporting, loan supervision and other issues requested by the participants. In addition to in-service training, IDF staff members received training on various aspects offered by other organizations including Software based Monitoring and Supervision, ME & SME Employee’s Development, Financial Analysis Course (FAC), Procurement and Inventory Management, Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries Training, Capacity Development in Microenterprise Financing Operations, Development Project Management and so on.
IDF extends its training programs to various organizations across Bangladesh, sharing its expertise to enhance the skills and knowledge base of partner organizations, community groups, and stakeholders in the development sector. These training sessions cover key areas such as financial management, microfinance operations, agricultural practices, health and hygiene, and enterprise development, marketing, risk mitigation etc. By conducting training at the national level, IDF promotes sustainable practices, fosters financial literacy, and builds the capacity of local organizations to address economic and social challenges effectively.
On an international level, IDF collaborates with organizations outside Bangladesh, offering specialized training programs and facilitating knowledge exchange on a global scale. These programs are designed for international organizations, NGOs, and stakeholders interested in replicating IDF’s successful models for poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, and rural development. Through international training sessions, IDF shares insights into microfinance, enterprise development, agricultural innovation, risk mitigation, customization and sustainable livelihood practices, providing practical frameworks those participants can apply within their own countries.
