Agriculture Training Centre
IDF established an Agriculture Training Centre for the poor and marginal farmers in Khagrachari in 2015 with the assistance of Japan Government and PKSF. 800 farmers and 40 staff members (ToT) are expected to provide training every year in this centre in different areas covering both production and processing. The trained farmers will receive required capital and technical services for production, quality control and marketing.
The training will be residential for 3 days. The farmers will be provided both theoretical and practical training. The training centre will have demonstration farms for each subject where the farmers can practice their theoretical lessons. The Training Centre has qualified and experienced faculty members and demonstrators.
The training centre at present is providing training in the following areas:
- Home gardening
- Beef fattening
- Milk cow rearing
- Bee keeping
- Goat Raring (Black Bengal)
